'Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.'

Hi all.

Really rough time around here.

Went back to one of my tried and trued coping mechanisms.  Finding quotes.  It's something my daughter and I do together, collect quotes.

Really like the one I just found this evening and thought that I would share.

I can't see an end to this storm.  I guess it's time to learn how to dance in the rain.

Thanks all for being here for me.

(((((Blessings)))))   I love the image of your dd and you finding quotes, especially those that are balm to the soul.    When you just want to laugh (also good for the soul) you are welcome to adopt one of my own personal favorites that i have shared here often...

Justine, thanks for the smile.

My hubby and I have been telling the kids that for years that the reason we don't divorce is because whomever leaves first has to take them.

We even sat at dinner one time and created fake match.com pages.  Pointing out all of our strengths, and then balancing it off with the fact that with the person came 4 special needs kiddos.

 Evil

Raddy 2 and 3 didn't think it was funny at all, but the rest of us sure did!!!

Thanks for the reminder to laugh.

"Between you and every goal that you wish to achieve, there is a series of obstacles, and the bigger the goal, the bigger the obstacles. Your decision to be, have and do something out of the ordinary entails facing difficulties and challenges that are out of the ordinary as well. Sometimes your greatest asset is simply your ability to stay with it longer than anyone else."
~ Brian Tracy

"Saints are sinners who kept on going."
~ Robert Louis Stevenson

"When things go wrong as they sometimes will;
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill;
When the funds are low, and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but do not quit.
Success is failure turned inside out;
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you can never tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit-
It's when things go wrong that you must not quit."

I have an idea of how to add some encouraging quotes to my children's lives.  Would those of you who know places that have some good ones, would you share them with me?  You can pm me....

I used to put encouraging quotes or funny jokes in my kids lunch boxes. It was fun.

I would love more of these kinds of quotes.  I plan to paste these onto word and keep a running record.  Thanks for sharing.  TBMom

Bijou, we have an old copy of "bartlett's book of quotations".   Lots of good stuff.   You might try William Benett's book of virtues.  He may have some.   Check out reference section of book stores.

Blessings,
My friend sent me a hilarious and uplifting email a couple of weeks ago that ended with your quote.  I'm copying it here:

Attitude

There once was a woman who woke up one morning,
looked in the mirror,
and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
'Well,' she said, 'I think I'll braid my hair today.'

So she did and she had a wonderful day.
The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror
and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.

'H-M-M,' she said,

'I think I'll part my hair down the middle today.'

So she did and she had a grand day.
The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed
that she had only one hair on her head.
'Well,' she said, 'today I'm going
to wear my hair in a pony tail.'
So she did, and she had a fun, fun day.
The next day she woke up,

looked in the mirror and noticed

that there wasn't a single hair on her head.

'YAY!' she exclaimed.

'I don't have to fix my hair today!'

Attitude is everything.

Be kinder than necessary,

for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Live simply,

Love generously,

Care deeply,

Speak kindly.......

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...

It's about learning to dance in the rain.
