Trauma Headquarters and ADSG

DS just posted on fb that he has lost his home, his job, and someone special.

I know that these are natural consequences to his choices, but my mama's heart still aches.

Maybe it's not as bad as it sounds.... my dd was all about DRAMA! Maybe boys are different.

Speaking of which, do we have a sticky anywhere pointing to a note that could be passed on to a rescue parent
as to why they shouldn't be playing mommy or daddy to an unattached person?

Got a phone call from DS at 3 a.m.  He wanted to talk to us because people were after him, and he's going to get 'hurt bad'.

Texted DS today.  Simply asked "Are you ok?"

He responded "yes".

And that was the end of it.  Methinks that DS is creating drama to see how much he can suck me in.  As I handed the phone to sweet hubby last night, he didn't get any reaction out of me.  And me texting him today was for me, not him.

I have also decided that the next time he pulls this, the call will get sent straight to voice mail.

If he does ever get seriously hurt or killed, the authorities will contact us as we are still the next of kin and on record in DS's town as such.

It's a sad reality, but it is mine.  And it's ok.

My answer to anyone who calls for "help" of that sort in the middle of the night - "if your life is in danger, call 911 - otherwise, wait and call me back at a reasonable hour."

Exactly....he needs to call 911, not his Mom!   What are you supposed to do?  Pack up your baseball bats and ride off to join the fight?   Perhaps DH needs to send him a "sensible" text to that effect in a day or two.    Of course, he's probably doing something he isn't supposed to do so he doesn't want to involve the police.....but his choice if he wants to be kept safe. 

 I still remember the agonizing night we spent this time 3 years ago, when ds was "homeless" near us and we had huge storms with terrible lightening and the only thing honest about my son is that he is very afraid of storms.    I was a wreck, while my SWP son drove in one car and my dh in another through driving rain and lightening trying to find him.   They had to park and walk behind box stores into woods where he said he lived.....

Found out a few days later that he was safe the whole time, living with a woman he picked up at a bar (and robbing her blind while she let him live off of her while he "looked for work".)

It took me days to catch my breath after that...I was SO sucker punched.    :coffee:   :BangHead:

Like you said in a way Blessings...how do you know what's real and what isn't?   He could lure you out to some spot in the middle of the night to ambush you...with words or worse.   Or steal your car.   My son is capable of all this so maybe I'm just generalizing too much.   But, sigh, BTDT.   :-[

DS is three hours away.  Not like I can jump in my car and rescue him.

Also not in the mood to help.

Every attempt at civility by me has been met by hostility.
