: blessingsindisguise October 25, 2008, 10:55:35 PM
I need prayers.

My son ran from rtc tonight.

No idea where he is, or where he will even try to go.

This is terrifying.

Praying!!!!!!!!!!

What led up to it?
What are they doing to look for him?  Did he run from the home or on an outing?
My webmail is down so I can't check to see if you answered my email yet.

Oh, Blessings, I'm so sorry!! That's one of the scariest things to not know where your child is, may God comfort you and know that he will be found and returned. I know God will watch over him while he's away!
Praying for you, ds, and family!
Keep us posted!

I thought Blessings might have been on today, however it looks like not yet, so yes, her son was found during the night and taken back to where he lives.

I imagine she will share some more later.

Hello dear ones.

Long night, couldn't get my post posted, and finally went to bed.

DS was found and returned to the rtc about 2:30 in the morning.  He was gone for about six hours.  He made it 16 miles, almost home.

I don't think he was coming home, I think he was trying to get closer to some of his friends.

What a roller coaster of emotion.

So glad he is safe, so mad at the hurt he continues to bring, and that he is still not catching on.

Also glad that he is revealing his true colors.

Maybe sometime he will hit rock bottom and actually want to get better..

Thank you all for your prayers.  It means so much to have all of your support.

Blessings - So glad ds was found and is safe.    Now I'm sure you'd like to do him in.   ::)
At least he ran on rtc's watch and they are dealing with the fallout.  Not fun for you - so sorry.  TBMom

Blessings,
I just found this post,  so glad that dS is safe.  As someone else mentioned, I'm glad that he ran on RTC's watch, also that he is showing his true colors.  Maybe they will let up on you in "parenting class."  I found that it when DS showed his true colors that staff wherever he was at the time, would start treating us with more validation.

It's a scary thing that he ran, but maybe all in all it might turn out to be a "good" thing.

Diane,

Oh, it ended up being a very good thing.

It was the red flag, flares, warning shot across the bow that I had bee praying for.

My son has this innate ability to become people's 'pet', and they stop listening to me.  Actually, I don't think they ever listened to me.

Now there are lots of people listening.

Social worker, house parents, supervisors, jrotc master sergeant, soon his judge, and always, his attachment therapist.  Our AT is the only one that has been on board since day one.  Oh, and he wasn't able to con the neuropsych.

Terrifying to live through, but now that I am through it, hopefully my son can be seen for who he really is.

His house teacher/mom told me "I never thought he would run, and it was over something so small."

I was able to respond appropriately and say something like "the problem all along is that he hasn't responded in proportion to the problem."

I really wanted to say "duh, have you been listening?"

Oh well....so glad for here.

I credit my ability to come up with good responses to this board.
