: Needing prayers.
: blessingsindisguise August 25, 2010, 09:05:25 PM
Friends, I need prayers.

It's been a long 12 weeks.  12 weeks ago I had three children at home, and loved the busy ness of it.  In spite of the RADiness of DD, and DS in RTC.

In June my eldest got married and moved 650 miles away.  I am missing her desperately.

In July my DD was removed from my home in handcuffs and is now in RTC.

DS is a senior in the RTC and trying to figure out his life after graduation.  And I cannot be his safety net and he needs one desperately.

Then this past weekend my Aunt died.  I cannot believe she is gone.  She was only 67 and a great cheerleader to me. And today I learned that a cousin died.  I was not close to my cousin, but it is another loss, another sorrow.

I live 1100 miles away from my family.  So I cannot attend these funerals.  My husband is out of town for the week. One of my best friends moved away this summer as her husband got a new job, and it's just all too much.

So appreciate your prayers.

Aw, that's sad!

Grab a cup of tea and tune the television to America's Funniest Home Videos or something. Humor is an immense healer!

Hope you are feeling somewhat better today.   That is alot of changes, alot of losses and alot of adjustments to make...emotionally and mentally.   I hope for a better year for you.    Be kind to yourself, dear, and give yourself the time to heal.

Thanks all.

Had to go to work today as I graduated from a class my hospital offers, and it was wonderful.  Got to put on my competent qualified expert nurse persona for a few hours, and it was wonderful!

Then had to go face a team meeting and a clueless person at the RTC and was back to mother appears hostile, but it was a nice break.

 :laughing6:

Bijou and I have been talking and I am allowing myself the time to mourn my losses.  It's been a rough three months.  It will take some time to re adjust.

and that's ok.

Blessings, I wish I was close to you so I could take you out for a cup of cocoa.  I guess we'll have to settle for a big cyberhug instead.

Hi friends!

Taking a time out seems to be in the cards for me.  We left our home in the midwest yesterday for a 700 mile road trip to Memphis Tennessee to take friends some stuff that they had had to leave behind when they moved earlier this summer.  Took my suburban in for some preventative maintenance, like a good responsible grown up.

Made it a little over half way, to Ste, Genevieve Missouri, and have broken down!  Of course it is a holiday weekend, we are in a small town of 4,000 and the chevy dealership will be open again on Tuesday.

 :laughing6:

I had my meltdown last night, and have since re grouped.  We are in a lovely hotel, next door to a Huddle House, which has enough choices to keep us satisfied.  Our friend came up to get his u haul full of stuff, and before he left, took us to the grocery store, so we have some food in the room.  A fridge and microwave are in the room, so we are set.  I also found the hotel laundry, so even though we packed very lightly, we were supposed to be home on Monday, we will be fine.

So keep those prayers coming!  Hoping that the suburban can be fixed, or that some other plan works out!  We are still a long way from home!

Hi Blessings!  You are in my neck of the woods.  We live just over an hour away.  Since you are stuck there you may enjoy touring the downtown.  It is an old French settlement.  There is an amazing graveyard with marked gravestones over 100 years old.  Two years ago in October I went there for a tour put on by the historical society where they had people dressing in historical clothing doing first person talks as though they were some of the people in the graveyard.  It was a fun way to learn some of the area history.  It's quite touristy and charming, so hope you enjoy your stay.

Thanks Truebluemom.

Our friend drove us to the historical part of town, and unfortunately its too far away for us to walk to tomorrow as my arthritis is flaring up.  So we are going to stick closer to the hotel.  There is a community center about a half a mile away, and if it's open, we will head there for a little bit.  There are some lovely homes within walking distance, and I have my camera, so we are going to take a short walk around the area.

I get to hang out with hubby and sweet pea so it will be fun!

Enjoy your unplanned/unexpected down-time, Blessings!  It's been a lovely weekend weather-wise, and for me that always makes life seems more positive.  Hope it does for you, too!

Blessings-I believe God does these things to get us the rest we need.  Time to re-group.  I am guessing you have had some time to breathe.  Sometimes we are so busy running on the wheel like a hampster that we forget where we are going or what we are doing!

Just like your name says-blessings in disguise!

Glad you are getting some time out.
