9 days until discharge & things are starting to open up at Job Corps & Salvation Army. Funny what the threat of homelessness can do. I'm just not sure it'll be fast enough & DD can NOT stay here.
Job Corps would be a much better program for DD but getting her there on a plane would make a whole 'nother reality show. While that's not my problem it still worries me.

Praying. Hope she lands at Job Corp, plane trip aside. If she's cooperating at all, maybe it's sinking in to HER that she is NOT coming home. Keep us posted....I know you are worried for her

Praying for dd, Ma. I hope they can get her situated. Hate that they waited so long to make this happen.

6 days until discharge. DD has been accepted by Job Corps - Excelsior Springs, MO. No start date yet. DD's T talked to Salvation Army & they also have an opening available July 1. I don't think that DD would be successful there. She would have to work part-time to pay her rent (30% of income), finish high school, grocery shop, cook, clean, do her own laundry. It's basically very cheap studio apartments with a few ind. living classes & people who will help you sign up for welfare. DD might be okay there if she was finished with high school.
So, for now, we are planning on taking her shopping for a cell phone & then taking her to a shelter Friday. Her phone, her money. She needs a way to contact Job Corps. DD has been calling shelters/transitional housing to check their requirements.

I will be praying for you all on Friday. It will be a tough, necessary day. Sure not what we signed up for all those years ago. Just so sad how broken our kids are.
