Trauma Headquarters and ADSG

Today was my mom's first birthday without her here.   Now my 64 yr old brother is critically ill and may not last the night.  My sister died at age 63 very suddenly 2.5 years ago.  Mom passed away this May.   :coffee:   Hard to believe, really!

Prayers are for his five kids who are taking it hard.  They are 23 to 43 and have watched their dad fight an extraordinary fight against genetic induced emphysema for a dozen years now.  He has been ill for over 20 years.

Most prayers please that if this is his time, that he will pass bathed in peace and comfort.   It must be so awful to just not be able to breathe anymore.   :(   Thanks all.

Praying tonight that his passing will be swift and sweet if it is his time to go.

Thank you so much for remembering ladies.   My brother died peacefully last night, surrounded by all five of his children, my sister and a few other close relatives.   He did not die alone.  He was not afraid.  My prayers were answered but my heart hurts.   He fought a valiant fight, literally doing EVERYTHING he could to take excellent care of himself as the disease marched on.   He never would have lived til age 64 otherwise.  He'll be missed.   My mom will be happy to see him.

What a wonderful way to pass.

Isn't it comforting to know there's a "Welcome Wagon" waiting us when we go home?  So sorry for you and your family.  It's so very hard to let our loved ones go into the Father's hands, because we just miss them so much here.

Thank you everyone.  Spent an hour on the phone last night with his oldest daughter, my first niece.   Made me even more at peace for how he left this world.  It couldn't have been more of a blessing for all of us the way things worked out.   God was in the details.

Thanks all.  Leaving tomorrow am for a whirlwind trip to MI.  Day and a half drive up, day and a half with family (and for funeral), day and a half back down.

The good news?  Looks like NW and I are going to be able to meet for a very quick visit!!   We are passing within 5 miles of her MIL's hometown.  Hoping for some good, safe travelling time tomorrow so we can pull this off Friday am.
