It struck me today that I've never been a patient person.  I'm not inclined to pray for patiences.  However, I figured out today that someone must have done just that.  They prayed for patience for me and God gave me my DS11, seven years ago.  Either the same person or someone else prayed for patience for me again and DS11 got worse.

I wish they'd stop praying for patience for me.  LOL. laugh

greymaster98,

I was once told that someone must have prayed for me to have an interesting life.

Again, I wish they would stop praying for me!!!!  LOL!!!

I don't know about praying for patience bringing on lots of troubles.  It is interesting to think about.

I do know that the more I pray and learn about God, the more I see God has a heart for those who hurt.  As a Christian, I am asked to live that out in one way or another.

We who have rad children have taken a very intimate road into God's heart for those who hurt.  Our children hurt.  And as we love them and live with them, we hurt too, both with them and from them.  But that is like God too, isn't it?

Sometimes this journey seems full of crap to me.  And sometimes it seems like a holy place.  And sometimes it is both at the same time.

My dh is not a Christian.  I once caught myself thinking I wanted God to use our twins to draw dh closer to Him.  Oh, boy.  I do think He is doing that.  You know the saying, Be careful what you wish for.

My prayer was for God to give us a child that needed us as much as we needed a child.  I guess God has more faith in me than I have in myself, cuz he sent us a firey redhead that turned our lives topsy turvy.  Be careful what you pray for???

Even God who made men, had disobiedent children (Adam and Eve) and He didn't do anything wrong, look what a mess mankind made and God still looks after us.
He punished us when needed but He goes on with us.
Sometimes I imagine God shaking sorrowful his head over us.

I myself like the 12step prayer...

give me the ability to differentiate between those things I CAN

and CANNOT influence, and the wisdom to do them correctly!
