Please pray for DD.

She's been having chest pain and heart palpitations.  It's been documented at school, so she has an appointment tomorrow with the doctor.  I don't think it's anything serious, probably anxiety attacks, but it is still concerning.

It's also hard as she has to go to this appointment without me.  No matter what she has done, she is still my kiddo, and it is so hard not to be able to go to these appointments with her.

My heart aches.

Will be praying.  It's hard when you can't be there when your kids are sick.  Hope it settles down quickly for her and you.

I am so angry.  And hurt.

 Cry

The RTC has not called me to let me know what went on at the appointment.

I am still the mama.

Simple common courtesy would dictate better treatment.

It's too late to call.

They have a house full of girls that are in bed.  The phone ringing this late wouldn't be good.

Just so so disappointed.

That is their problem. They should have called you so you call them and find out.

I agree with NW.  Institutions tend to take the "If you don't hear from us everything is fine," approach AFTER they stand every hair on end by telling you something like "heart palpatations".  Sheesh.  Make them be responsible for THEIR part...they put you on alert, they can relieve you of it!

It is your child's health you are concerned with, not what they had for dinner.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes CALL.  nike

Thanks friends.

Sent an e mail this morning to the house teachers and clinical supervisor.  The house teachers were off Monday night and it was the Assistant House teacher that told me I would get a call last night.

I am guessing that the message didn't get passed on.

Not feeling well enough to call and deal with this.

Deep sigh.

Got an e mail from the house teacher this morning.  They were waiting for results before they called me.

The house mom just called me and DD17 has some abnormalities in her EKG.  She is being referred to the children's hospital for an ekho cardio gram on Friday.

I have asked for permission to go with her to this appointment.  The house teacher is going to ask her supervisor if it would be ok.

Please pray that they will let me go.

Thanks for all of your prayers.

Echocardiograms aren't so bad.  Just a sonogram of the heart, really.  My youngest was born with two heart murmurs a VSD and PFO.  They monitored them with the Echo.  Abnormalities can be something small like a murmur.  My 5 lives with one and it doesn't really affect his life much.  I just have to watch him with extreme physical activity to make sure his blood stays oxygenated.

However, I do know I would want to be there.   Why is it that you have to ask?  Am I being naive again?

I'll pray they let you attend.

neitlingme,

I had to get permission to go as my daughter is a ward of the state, and I am no longer her legal guardian.  The RTC approves all contact and outings.  I found out this afternoon that I will be allowed to meet my daughter and her house teacher at the hospital and accompany her.

And I am not concerned about the echo, as I am a nurse, I am just terrified of what we could find out.  I am trying very hard not to borrow trouble, but it is just so scary.  It's going to be a long two days until she can have the test.

These are the days I hate being a nurse.  I simply know too much.
