Not a super-close friend, but an acquaintance of many years from a hs board, a forum like this one, where we've become family over many years.
One of the moms has an adult daughter with epilepsy. The daughter died in her bed the other night, apparently due to a seizure. No warning. The family is, of course, devastated. (parents are Mary and Jim)
Although we aren't super-close, the loss of a child still hits home. For all the problems our kids have, as long as they're still living, they still have a chance. But dead you don't come back from.
