Hey friends.  We are under a severe weather advisory.

I live in the Omaha metro area, and they are calling for a rough night of weather.

Prayers for safety would be much appreciated.

I'm praying blessings. My brother is near OK City and he's prepping for storms too.

You're getting the storm we had yesterday and we had waterspouts (tornados over water) and crazy winds from it. We don't see that kind of stuff often here in So Cal! It was a wild one and I can just imagine it once it hits the plains.  confused2

We just had a big one pass over the west coast. In a land where it's rare to get 1/4" of rain in a 3 day storm, we've gotten 1-1/2" twice in the last 3 days. That's pretty much a "make sure there's life jackets in the boat" warning for the rest of the country. Batten down the hatches!

I will be Praying.  DH is going through Oklahoma City today, and the same storm you are facing, Blessings, has it's origins there.  You  have the strongest cell, OK city to Joplin has the next strongest, according to the weatherman here.  Tornados and all expected.  I really don't like him driving a truck full of tortilla chips through there.  All I can think is seven layer dip.  Sad

Pray for DH too, please.

Blessings, hope you (and everyone else out there) is safe.  No seven layer dip!

Praying for your DH also neitlingme....

It's really scary.  They just closed the AF base that is adjacent to the metro area.  That hardly ever happens.

Will check in later tonight after it's all over.

Heading to bed friends.  So far the worst of the weather has missed us.  Alas we have gotten a lot of rain and our basement is flooding.  We will be all right, more of a nuisance than anything.

Thanks for the prayers.

Glad to know you're safe, Blessings.  Any word on Neitlingmes' husband?

anne,

neitlingme's husband was hunkered down 100 miles behind the storm, the last I heard, so safe.

A little town 30 miles south of us was 90% destroyed.

So close.

Nobody was hurt, but the little town is devestated.

Makes my wet basement rank as an inconvenience at best.

Yep, Blessings was right.  DH decided to stop before getting into the storms yesterday, and drive all night instead.  I haven't heard from him today, and worry a little (it's par for the course), but don't want to wake him if he's actually asleep.  I'll text.  He isn't supposed to leave where he is until somewhere around 8pm tonight.  (deliverytime is 10pm tonight).

SO...I'm still praying, as his little corner of the world still has to go through the storms and head where damage has been.  Ugh.

Thanks all!!

We made it through without any damage in WIchita, KS...The mobile home court that was leveled is less than 1-2 miles from my place. It was a very scary situation and I am thankful we had a friend call us to their place and their basement. I feel so blessed we made it through with no damages to our house. The only thing that happened was my SX4 got scratched up by branches (which who cares). Our power came back on around 11pm...

How is everyone is? ANy damage?

I'm glad, too, that you weathered the storm without any further damage.

So glad everyone here made it through the storms safely.  We were fortunate as they passed by just north of us.  We got some heavy wind and rain, but nothing significant.
