Dear Lord,

Hear my prayer.

My prayer for my homeless son.  Burdened by the legacy left to him by the woman that birthed him, but had not the skills to mother him.

My prayer for my dysregulated daughter.  Also burdened by the legacy left to her by the woman that birthed her, but had not the skills to mother.

Search my heart, and hear all of my prayers, spoken and unspoken, for all of the children, and families and parents that are represented on this board.

In as much as you can, please guide, guard and strengthen our children.  Place a hedge of protection around them, when possible.

Help me to be salt and light in lives.

Strengthen, and guide me.  Guard me from hopelessness, despair, and fear.

Give me courage to face today, and tomorrow.

Give me compassion to bear another's burdens, as so many others have helped me to bear mine.

And Lord, as my head reclines in slumber tonight, come and gently wipe away my tears, ease my troubled heart, and be always with me.

Lord, hear my prayer.

Thank you.  I don't know what I'd do without everyone's prayers.

Thank you all.

In the middle of a mess with both kiddos.  Literally nothing that I can do.  Nothing.

Only pray.

((((((((((((((((((blessings))))))))))))))))

I pray for all of us every day.

Selfishly, I include myself in my prayers.  And I thank my Lord every day, that I found safe haven in this group.

All of you are a blessing to me!  angel10

Cher it is not selfish to pray for yourself.    In The Lord's Prayer you pray for yourself.  Jesus prayed for himself.   It's all good.

I have always been the one to take care of everyone else first, and myself last.

Examples:  Kids get their eye exams and dentist check ups done.  I wait until they are done with glasses and cleanings paid in full.  Then I go in.
DH needs new work boots.  I wait until the next time I have extra cash before I get shoes without holes.  Kids need school clothes?  I   don't shop for myself until weeks after school begins (if at all).  Mom needed her doctor appts on time (Alzheimers).  I waited until she was in a nursing home before I went in for a check up (about 3 years later).  I could not catch a break with work, med appts, physc appts, counseling and school and Alzheimers care.  So I put off my well-woman exam and mamogram for almost 15 years (just got it done)!!! The last one I had was when I had my 1st mamo. at age 40.  I am now 55.   I have always come last and I accept that. I have always taken care of someone else,,first.

Maybe that is why I am having a difficult time putting myself 1st for a change as the last one gets ready to leave the nest, and mom has passed on.

Yes, even in prayer.
