Pa goes back to court tomorrow to extend the emergency guardianship letter. His sisters do not want a guardian or conservator for their mom. They want to be in control. They want to move her again - even though she has dementia.
Please pray for the best possible outcome for my MIL & that Pa doesn't let all of this make him bitter.

Praying that Pa finds favor with the judge and that the judge has wisdom. So sad to have this strife right now with his sisters' behaving badly.

Court was kind of a freak show & very draining. BUT, Pa's lawyer & his mom's lawyer were in agreement that things remain as they are until mediation &/or trial. And that payment for the guardian should come out of MIL's trust & not out of Pa's pocket anymore.  Sisters were not happy. Mediation is April 23rd & so the trial will probably be late summer or early fall. The sisters actions are making our case for us. A few of his sisters kids are estranged from their mothers. One in particular is willing to testify against her mother. We are trying to help her prepare for any possible retaliation. Having raised a RADish has served us well. (Never thought I'd say that.) Thanks for everyone's prayers. Pa did great. |
