A very special prayer is needed for a devistated family.

I attended a private double graveside service yesterday, and was just to heartbroken to post.
But I do see that the family is in dire need of prayers.

The elderly couple I help take care of next door, both passed away.  She on Wednesday night from pnenonia (COPD).  She went peacefully in hospice care.  Her dear hubby was unaware she had been taken to hospice the day before, from ICU.  He had severe dimensia and had little mind or memory the last 4 weeks.  Apparently, when he attempted to get out of bed, Thursday morning, he fell.  Due to his wife's death, their son was staying with him at the house.  But he had not been told of his wife's death yet, as he was sleeping already when she passed.  The son raced him to ER for the once over for broken bones.  He fell asleep in ER and never woke up.  Passing gently on Friday in the wee hours of the morning to join his wife in eternal bliss at Jesus side.

They were married almost 62 yrs!  A truly amazing couple!

They leave behind a son and daughter and 4 grown grandchildren.  All are having an extremely hard time with the impact of losing BOTH parents and grandparents at the same time.  While they know it was for the best, and J & J are happy in God's kingdom, it is still too much to bare.  I was proud to be invited to the service, as one of the few other than family.  It's means a lot to me.

I have been asked to keep this a secret from ALL the neighbors as the home is NOT secured and we have a few new (seedy characters) in the rentals and one HUGE gossip a few houses down.  This is so difficult!  Cuz I happen to work with the "gossip"!!!!  J&J did not like or trust her as she is a total wine-o!!  Drunk every night, wandering her driveway and sticking her nose into others business.

Please pray for the family.  The are all good Christians (how we know each other-church for 30+ yrs).  But this whole situation is almost too much for anyone to bare.

Please pray for me.  That I can protect the family for preying people and honor their wishes thru to the end.  It is VERY hard to do when you work with nosey/gossip!

Once we have the alarm installed (hope for Sat) then I no longer have to worry about who knows.  But goodness!  There are too many people questioning me as to why they haven't seen them out and about.

I feel a bit more edgy b/c just about every neighbor, including the gossip, has started to make statements to me about how they haven't seen J leave for church, or J&J both go to the grocery store in a few weeks.

Gossip lady asked if I had checked on them.  I said yes.  Then she didn't trust my word so wanted to call the cops to do a welfare check.  I ran right over to the house (thank GOD she didn't follow me).  Made her believe I was checking on them.  Thankfully, she didn't stick around to see the result of that visit to the door.

Ugh!  I hate this!

How long does it take to put a lock on the door!   Sounds stressful for you!   I prayed that the family would find comfort that they both died peacefully.   I miss my mom terribly who died last May..but i do take GREAT comfort often in the way that she peacefully slipped away surrounded by four of her daughters...and all the days leading up to that day when she gave us the gift of being with her and caring for her.  As their grief lessens, that comfort will matter even more.

That's what I suggested.  but nope!

He wants an alarm system put in b/c HE doesn't KNOW the neighbors well enough to trust them.

We do know most of them and they seem okay.  While there are better neighborhoods, we are far from the worst!

They both felt tired and fell asleep then slipped peacefully in their sleep during the nights.

So happy for that!

I'd like to think that he heard his wife and God calling to him to join them.  He was so weary.  And I have to say, we take wedding vows to "become one heart, one soul".

They lived it!  I really believe the reason they passed so close is that they were indeed "ONE".
