The past few days I've been wondering why I don't just give up, why do I keep thinking I can get through to this kid.  Then this morning as I was reading my daily devotion, God spoke to me.  Here is a link to the devotion. May it be a blessing to you.

I just the other day told my sister that I now truly understand why people turn to drugs or alcohol to escape the reality of their lives.  The past is unhappy and better off not remembered, the present is hellish, and the future seems hopeless.
